At English World we offer a wide variety of courses and are happy to create new courses based on the requirements of our students. We currently teach children from twenty months old, teenagers and adults of all levels and with varying needs. We are also involved in many collaborations outside the school in homes, private nurseries, for groups of school children and in businesses around the local area.
Most of our children’s lessons take place in WONDERLAND watched over by Alice, The Mad Hatter and The White Rabbit. The room is a secure space for children with soft material covering the angles and a large thick mat covering the floor. The mat can be arranged in various designs to create a path alongside a river, or a garden with a pond transporting the children into a fantasy world where they can play among the bushes, and the rose shaped cushions.
In story corner the heart shaped cushions await the children and the Cheshire Cat smiles down from the wall ready to listen to the stories told with images, puppets and masks. At the tables the children colour pictures, write or make hats, masks and puppets to take home.
There are another three classrooms at English World. The smallest is SOHO behind the reception named after the area of London famous for its nightlife, clubs, restaurants and media offices. From SOHO we can teach students outside the school via SKYPE as well as one-to-one and small group lessons.
ABBEY ROAD can welcome up to eight students at a time comfortably seated on chairs with side tables, in addition to hosting individual lessons for adults and teenagers. As in every classroom there are two whiteboards to provide maximum flexibility to the teacher and to encourage maximum participation from the students. The students learn in the company of the most famous English pop group The Beatles.
In the 1960’s CARNABY STREET in London was the most ‘in’ place to be and today it is famous for shopping. In the 70’s it was home to the Mod movement, immortalized by the poster from the film ‘Quadrophenia’ hanging on the wall at the school and also of Punk Rock. It is one of our biggest rooms at the school and can accommodate ten people, the maximum number of students for group lessons.
