The first ever Art Club for children
Before moving to Italy, Alison the owner of English World, was a graphic designer in London and after, she graduated from the Courtauld Institute on the Strand with a degree in Art History. Art has always played an important part in her life and from the beginning of the school in 2010, she has always wanted to set up an Art Club for the kids who attend the school and those from outside of the school. During the school year we do a lot of themed Saturday morning workshops, where the children can make Christmas decorations for the tree, presents for mother’s and father’s day, something for Easter and lots more. However, there has never been a Saturday afternoon club, which has concentrated exclusively on creative activities.
A chance meeting with American Lindsey during the summer, brought to the forefront once more, the desire to set up the club. Lindsey had already done something similar at the Beta Bar in Terranuova. Together they decided to try a Saturday afternoon, 2nd November, from 3 to 4.30pm. The children will spend 90 minutes enjoying themselves, listening to the English language and after, they can take home the objects they make during the workshop. The cost is only €15 everything included. It is necessary to book a place at the school reception by 8pm on Thursday 31st October.
