Decorating the Christmas tree together!
At English world the month of November finished in great style: the morning of Saturday 30th saw the children’s workshop to make decorations for the school Christmas tree and in the afternoon Alison accompanied a small group of high level students to the Museum of the Basilica to speak about narrative art in front of Fra Angelico’s Annunciation.
Thirteen children took part in the morning workshop, enthusiastic to contribute to decorating our white Christmas tree, which we always place outside the front door during the Christmas period. This year the idea for the decorations was more personalised than ever before: lots of wooden decorations in the shape of stars and snowflakes, that were painted, covered in glitter and jewels, and most importantly…. each had a photo of the child who created it placed in the centre. Every child made two with the help of our teachers, Emma, Eva and Alison. At the end of the creative hour, we all went out to the Christmas tree together to hang the decorations. The result was very impressive and now our beautiful tree stands ready to welcome all of our students and anybody who comes to see us during the month of December. After the Christmas period, the children can take home their creations as a keepsake and as such be able to hang them on their own trees next year. Happy Christmas everybody.
